Overview

The Giant Clam is the largest shelled mollusk, reaching up to 120cm (47in) wide. Though they appear intimidating, the Giant Clam feeds on the algae that grows on its mantle. These clams are found throughout the Indo-Pacific regions and can produce pearls as large as gold balls. Giant Clams can live for over 100 years.
