Neptune's Lace

Bryozoan colonies consist of many 1000 of tiny boxes> Each box houses a small polyp that can extend its head for filter feeding. Together these boxes form a great variety of differently shaped colonies. Neptune’s lace resembles coral. These delicate colonies are unmistakable. Neptune’s lace is very common in the Mediterranean. Living colony pink; dead areas quickly over grown by green algae. In dark places, such as cave entrances, and in 25+ meters.
