Mytilus edulis
NENot evaluated
Overview
The Blue Mussel is commercially valuable because it is edible and commonly eaten. It can be found on the North American Atlantic coast, but when hybridized with other mussels, its distribution can be much wider. These mussels form aggregate colonies and attach themselves to rocks on the ocean shores. Blue Mussels only grow to about 8cm (3in) in length.
