نظرة عامة

The antennae of the slipper lobster are modified into shovels. It lives on rocky and rocky/sandy bottoms down to a depth of 100 m. It is active at night. During the day it hides, frequently inside caves. Large animals can sometimes be encountered in the open daylight. This species has, however become rare in almost all of its range, due to severe over-fishing. It feeds on mollusks mainly limpets.

الانتشار

South Morocco to Angola: probably accidentally introduced into the Mediterranean and the Spanish Atlantic Coast.

It lives on rocky and rocky/sandy bottoms down to a depth of 100 m. It is active at night. During the day it hides, frequently inside caves.
