The Lebanese Marine and Wildlife Museum is independent. It was built specimen by specimen by one person over more than twenty years, and it stays open the same way — through the people who visit it and support it.
Become a member
Membership costs $80 a year and includes:
- Free admission to the exhibits
- Twenty per cent off the museum shop and the restaurant
- Invitations to the museum’s events and activities
- Discounts on day camps, field trips, workshops and birthday parties
Add to the collection
Donating an object or a specimen adds directly to the collection. A single well-documented specimen can fill a gap in the record of what lives in Lebanon and its waters, and donors are recognised with honorary membership.
Other ways to give
Gifts can also be made through a will or trust, or as sponsorship and programme support from a company or foundation.
What your support pays for
Conserving more than five thousand specimens is quiet, constant work — cleaning, treating and repairing pieces that are decades old, and keeping seven halls open to visitors and school groups.
It also pays for Wildlife of Lebanon: the first national archive of the country’s flora and fauna, being built here species by species, free for anyone to use.
