Overview
The Giant Wing Oyster grows to about 18cm (7in) and can produce pearls of about 13mm (0.5in). The shells are quite fragile, but are still able to create the unusual “wing” shape at their hinge. The oysters attach themselves to the ocean bottoms in the Indo-Pacific.
